Care and Maintenance Fund
Care and Maintenance fees are added to the purchase price of any cemetery plot. Typically the fee is 40% of the purchase price. Please ask for more information on this.
Funds for “Care and Maintenance” (also known as perpetual fee), which is purchased with each grave, are placed in a trust fund, administered by Scotiabank under the requirements of the Ontario Ministry Consumer and Commercial Relations, Cemeteries Branch.
Only the interest from these funds can be used for maintenance. When there are no longer any graves for sale, this income will continue to fund care of the grounds.
